Job Description:
The Civil Manager will carefully examine documentation pertaining to the civil scope of work and offer necessary oversight and inspection to guarantee contractors’ adherence to project specifications. This encompasses responsibilities such as overseeing roads, drainage improvements, SWPPP BMPs, site grading, and facility foundations and anchors.
This position is available as an independent contractor on a 1099 basis. The role requires full-time, onsite availability for up to six days and sixty hours per week. After every five weeks onsite, a one-week paid turnaround will be provided. Applicants are responsible for providing their own site vehicle, vehicle insurance, cell phone, and laptop computer.
Job Duties:
- Coordinate requirements and maintain relationships with environmental agencies, landowners, and local government.
- Actively participate in site safety meetings and initiatives.
- Validate construction progress and milestone accomplishments against the project schedule.
- Document non-conformities and track through their resolution.
- Facilitate communication between contractors, equipment suppliers, operations personnel, landowners, and owner’s consultants on the site.
- Track construction progress and help provide weekly written reports updating stakeholders on construction progress.
- Oversee all civil work.
- Monitor and validate that the contractor adheres to environmental plans and permits and is in compliance with SWPPP BMP installations.
- Inspect foundations and other structures to verify design compliance by the contractor.
- Assist with job book review and verify civil-related as-builts.
- Provide oversight to verify contractor compliance with project specifications.
- Assist the AP&E Site Manager with job book review and completion.
- Collaborate with the AP&E site team to plan and monitor project quality control activities and documentation.
- Submit daily and weekly reports on suppliers’ and contractors’ construction activities to the AP&E Site Manager and owner’s Project Manager.
- Perform civil work walkdowns, and supervise the correction of the EPC contractor’s punchlist items.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in the construction of utility-scale renewable energy generation facilities with at least two years of solar project construction experience.
- Proficiency in reading and comprehending engineering blueprints, electrical studies, and drawings.
- Strong adherence to safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Proficiency in reading, understanding, and interpreting contractual agreements, project documentation, and permits.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
